Dow has an opportunity for a Senior TS&D Specialist for Plastics & Specialties Packaging Business in our facility in Jundiai, São Paulo, to support the development and market implementation of Dow Plastics resins. The successful candidate will support customer needs by leading the development of new applications and by providing technical knowledge on the use, handling and management of Dow products. Technical interface with strategic customers, and other industry stakeholders, the role has a strong application and new product development focus, with key responsibilities including:  Identify and understand the end use application needs.  Identify project opportunities based on customer and market needs; geographic growth opportunities.  Translate customer needs into product and application development opportunities;  Develop and implement new products, applications and technologies;  As a member of the Latin America Packaging & Specialty Plastics Technical Service and Development organization, you will also have responsibility for specific development projects, requiring interaction with colleagues in Latin America and/or globally. With technical responsibility for a defined group of customers, you will need to work closely with sales, marketing and other functions.  Responsibilities Recognizes and defines technology problems, boundaries, and impact within the area of accountability.Apply knowledge, solve challenging problems, propose innovative alternatives, removes defects and variation and continuously improves existing products.  Develops in-depth understanding of the competitive environment.  Creates innovative solutions and applications in response to changing market conditions.  Consistently applies the scientific methodology to solve technical problems. Communicates results and impact of projects with sense of urgency to influence decision within the business and with the customer based on value.  Use understanding of the customer to define projects that deliver solutions to customer and market meet through technical solutions.  Develop understanding of market/industry dynamics and develop a technical strategy to capitalize on customer needs.  Provides effective TS&D support to numerous accounts for the business and responds to technical questions of customers and other Dow/market-facing businesses.  Attends appropriate industry conferences and contributes data and input for papers and presentations.  Assume significant customer account responsibilities across multiple customers.  Understand and follow appropriate EH&S standards, policies and procedures applicable to their job. Lead by example in the area of safety behaviors by promoting safe work habits.  Qualifications  Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field.  Previous experience working with Industrial Applications (shrink, stretch, general use industrial and agriculture films, etc.).  Strong knowledge of material creation process, raw material/product registration process, industry EH&S requirements.  Fluent English in verbal and written communications.  Native Portuguese.  Availability to travel (20 a 50%).  Knowledge of polymers and/or polymer fabrication technologies, gained through a university level education in Polymer Material Science, Fabrication Technology or Engineering, or closely related fields Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders (sales, marketing, TS&D, R&D, regulatory, product stewards, etc.) from multiple backgrounds.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to utilize internal and externalnetwork and understanding of multiple technologies to build partnerships with customers and co-suppliers for business growth and solving complex problems.  Master's degree or PhD preferred.
